The festive season in Lethbridge is officially upon us.
This weekend marks the return of a beloved local tradition, as Christmas at Casa kicks off the city's holiday celebrations for its 13th consecutive year.
Organized by the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge, the event is more than just a market; it's a vibrant showcase of the region's creative spirit.
Over 100 artists and artisans will gather, transforming the downtown art centre into a bustling festival of creativity.
According to organizers, this year will host more than 60 unique vendors, offering one-of-a-kind gifts and holiday treasures.
This has become the premiere Christmas event for the arts community.
Attendees can expect a truly immersive experience with live music planned throughout the entire Casa building and spilling out into Rotary Square.
The atmosphere will be enhanced with special features like live blacksmith demonstrations, hot drinks, and snacks to keep shoppers warm.
Music lovers can enjoy live performances, including Charlie Brown Christmas jazz renditions and classic hits.
At its core, the event fulfills a key mission for the Allied Arts Council: to champion local artists and provide them with a platform to thrive.
For many of these creators, this weekend is a crucial opportunity to connect with the community and advance their artistic careers.
Itās an event they anticipate all year long, relying on it to share their work with an eager audience.
What began with just 30 or 40 participants has grown exponentially, reflecting the community's strong support for shopping local.
Now, galleries throughout the venue are filled with artists, making it a cornerstone of the Lethbridge holidays.
The celebration begins Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
