Lethbridge Public Library Offers Festive Fun for Families This December

A variety of holiday-themed activities await residents at both library branches

The holiday season is in full swing at the Lethbridge Public Library, with a lineup of engaging events designed to bring festive cheer to the community.

For parents seeking a space to wrap gifts away from curious eyes, the library presents Tinsel and Tape. While children enjoy a drive-in movie experience—crafting their own cardboard box cars and watching a holiday film—adults can utilize the library's facilities to wrap presents and relax with provided snacks. This event is scheduled for December 13 at the Crossings Branch and December 20 at the Main Branch, both running from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Additionally, the Crossings Branch is hosting Blizzards and Bricks, where children can construct winter scenes using LEGO bricks. Participants will be divided into age categories, with prizes awarded to winners. Community members are encouraged to visit and vote for their favorite creations.

On December 6, the Main Branch will feature a staged reading of "Lenoire" by playwright Kayla Turnbull. This event offers audiences a first look at the play and an opportunity to provide feedback directly to the playwright. The reading will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Looking ahead, tickets are now available for the 2026 Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour. This year's tour showcases a collection of inspiring action, environmental, and adventure films. The festival will be hosted by the Lethbridge Public Library at the Yates Memorial Theatre from January 15 to 17.

For more information on these events and to purchase tickets, visit the library's website or contact either branch directly.
