YWCA Lethbridge Hosts Third Annual Gala to Support Women and Children in Crisis

Community Gathers for a Night of Giving and Celebration

The  YWCA Lethbridge & District is set to host its third annual gala on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Lethbridge Trade and Convention Centre.

This event aims to raise funds for women and children fleeing domestic violence and abuse.

The evening will feature a silent auction, live auction, photo booth, and opportunities for attendees to connect with community members.

Community Engagement Coordinator Lorien Johansen highlighted that the silent auction has been opened ahead of the event, allowing those unable to attend in person to participate.

“You don’t need to be attending the gala to bid on some items,” she stated.

“You can register as an auction participant and place your bids and all of those things even if you’re not attending the gala in person.”

More details are available on the YWCA website.

In addition to the gala, the YWCA is currently running its ‘Stockings of Hope’ holiday campaign.

There are three ways residents can get involved in the program:

Option one: ‘Adopting’ a stocking and filling it with a participant’s wish-list items, then bringing the unwrapped gifts to the YWCA.

Option two: Selecting gift cards and wrapping supplies.

The YWCA organizing committee will gift-wrap each item, with Johansen saying, “We can make sure to include at least one gift card for every program participant in the Stockings of Hope campaign.”

Option three: Making a financial donation toward the program.

Stockings are now available, and those interested can contact the YWCA.

The 2024 gala raised over $160,000, directly supporting programs and services essential to women, youth, and children who have experienced domestic violence or abuse.
